先端分子スピン科学とテクノロジー

「有機分子からは磁性をもつ物質はできない」という化学や物理学の常識を覆した「有機強磁性」 の概念およびそのモデル有機高スピン分子の研究を内外で最も早くから行い、 その成果を発展させて「スピン化学」/「スピン化学物理」の体系化と分子性・ 有機磁性をベースとした新規な磁気量子効果/スピンマグネティクスの研究を理論と実験の両面から行っています。 「有機磁性」(分子磁性ともいう)は、化学、物理学、高分子科学、 生物学を横断する最新の学際領域(inter- or multi-disciplinary area)であるばかりでなく、 その潜在的応用面から有機磁性がもつ量子機能発現の多様性が注目される次世代の「未来基礎技術」 の一つ(スピニクス)といわれるものです。分子性・有機磁性/スピン化学は、 学問領域としては文字どおり最新の「ボーダーレスの科学」としての特徴をますます強くしています。
